Pathways
Our Approach
Our approach brings together cultural learning, environmental education and storytelling practice.
We believe young people should actively participate in shaping the narratives of their place, community and future.
Learning becomes deeper when it is connected to story, place, creative making, enterprise, reflection and lived experience.
How We Work
A Connected Learning Ecosystem
Our work brings together storytelling-led learning, environmental education, creative practice and community participation.
Each part of the ecosystem has a role: Yuniya supports learning and participation, Karatasi Collective supports cultural production, and Karatasi Studio supports digital storytelling and ongoing engagement.
Together, they create a pathway where learning can move from story and participation into making, reflection, cultural production and future possibilities.
Our Practice
Five Interconnected Pillars
Storytelling
As a tool for understanding systems, place and identity. Through story, young people explore climate, ecology, identity, memory, land, community and care through accessible and participatory experiences.
Creative Making and Enterprise
Creative practice, cultural production and enterprise as forms of learning. Making supports reflection, expression and shared participation through creative response. Through the wider ecosystem, making can move into products, publications, story-led enterprise and future pathways.
The Environment
Place-based and ecological learning rooted in lived experience. Local environments become spaces for observation, questioning, participation and creative response.
Participation
Co-created learning shaped with and by communities. Young people are contributors, makers, storytellers and active participants within the learning process.
Cultural Production
Learning that becomes visible through making, documentation and shared output. Through the wider ecosystem, learning may move into books, products, publications, digital storytelling and community-based cultural work.

Learning Philosophy
Layered Engagement
Our approach supports young people and communities to move through connected stages of:
Enter through narrative, imagination and curiosity
Engage through doing, making and contributing
Build environmental and systems awareness
Transform understanding into creative response and cultural production
Document learning, develop critical thinking and voice
Connect learning to place, people and collective futures
Connect skills to real-world futures and opportunities
Our Ecosystem
Learning Beyond The Room
Through the wider ecosystem, ideas can continue through books, story-led products, digital storytelling, field notes and cultural outputs.
Participation can move beyond the original learning experience and become something shared, visible and ongoing.
