We hope we can add our diverse, exciting, fun stories and activities to your list.

Stories That Inspire A Love Of STEM

STEMstories is a suite of resources for Key Stages 1–3 that can be used in timetabled lessons or in after-school STEM clubs. We offer creative hands-on tasks and challenges that enable pupils to bring together knowledge of science, math, design and technology.

Yuniya projects are inspired by the UN Goals for Sustainable Development and use real-world scenarios to bring relevant context to STEM learning.

STEMStories

At the heart of the project is our mission to use diverse, fun stories, engaging and exciting narratives and experiences on African history, heritage and culture to inspire a love of STEM.

We provide a curated set of fun and engaging stories, online resources, and activities based on different STEM themes, each linking to the National Curriculum.

Our goal is to save you time by making STEM learning easier for busy educators like you.

5 Reasons Why STEM And Storytelling Go Together

Visualisation

Stories are compelling for a more collaborative approach as it is easier to “play back” or revisit multiple times for multiple reasons, including feedback and decisions made to arrive at a shared vision.

Stories create context

Students naturally learn about the world through narratives. Stories bridge the gap between theory and reality.

Focus: Bitesize content

Stories break down information and serve it in a more simple way. Simple storytelling provides children with the context needed to understand more complex information.

Engagement

' Why are we learning this?'

Stories remind students of the purpose of what they are learning and how they can use it in real life.

Stories make us care

Stories distinguish between children passively receiving information and actively using and acting upon information.

Stemstories : Themes

Our broad mixed themes support and encourage children to explore the role of STEM in tackling the impact of global trends with an emphasis on design thinking and problem-solving.
