Our goal is to...

To empower a new generation of voices with knowledge, resources and skills crucial for articulating their thoughts and feelings and engaging with climate change issues more personally.

To support and generate meaningful dialogue between generations, ensure that sustainability efforts are inclusive and diverse and appropriately respond to varied community needs.

How we do it

Educational content

Education is a vital solution to many global issues, and the climate crisis is no different. Children must gain a deeper understanding of the systems that make life on earth possible. But, it must also be done in a way that meets the needs of the children, taking notice of the complex challenges facing communities.

So at Yuniya,  we rediscover and retell stories, develop resources, and invite children and community members to explore and engage with culturally relevant content.

We aim to empower and support the next generation of environmental voices.

Hopeful Stories Hopeful Futures

We share stories that offer visions of hope and encourage children to dream of the future they want and deserve.

Connection to the outdoors

Nature for all

We believe connections between humans and other ecosystems are vital for healthy people and the environment. One can only fight for our planet by connecting to it.

We support and promote physical and mental well-being through eco-adventures in the great outdoors.

We support children, parents and caregivers to engage with nature to build connections.

Our educational content and outdoor activities encourage and empower children to develop a nature-caring mindset and explore green spaces.

Objects and Connections

Community and Experiences

The older generation share childhood stories reflecting on the symbols they lived by and experienced, ancient customs and traditions, and their connection to nature and the environment. This project aims to set the stage for intergenerational creative approaches to climate action in ways that feel authentic to the community.

Tell Me A Story

In our story hunt workshop, we challenge children to visit their communities and ask elders to tell them childhood stories.

These activities help establish a dialogue between two generations and contribute to a growing archive of stories accessible to anyone anywhere.

History can help solve the problems that we're facing.

Awareness and Activism

Addressing Eco Anxiety

Through creative workshops, children build skills crucial for articulating their thoughts and feelings and engaging with climate change issues more personally.

Kids Clubs

In the Kids Clubs, we share inclusive stories and books to engage, empower, educate, and celebrate empathy, diversity, and equality.

Intergenerational Learning

There is something worth cherishing when two generations collaborate at different stages of life.

Intergenerational Learning and cognitive development for children are particularly powerful when grounded in the reality of meaningful activities and relationships with older people.
