Stories In Motion

STORY HUNT

The children will first go on a story hunt, asking for stories within their community or families.

REVIEW

Once all the stories are received, the group will review and choose one story to go into production.

REIMAGINE

The children will have the opportunity to share their reimagined concepts of the story.

RELEVANCE

Here children participate in activities that highlight the relevance of these tales to our contemporary world.

How do we do it?

Through a Challenge! Rooted in stories is an exciting challenge that enables children to discover African stories.

Children are tasked with collecting traditional stories from the elders and bringing these stories to life using modern communication tools in creative and expressive ways.

Stories In Motion

In this project, children participate in preserving oral tradition.

Children learn about storytelling and become part of a new generation sharing African tales and their relevance to our contemporary world.

Rooted in Stories

The Stories In Motion challenge is designed for young people, mainly between 8 and 15 years old. The challenges encompass an array of activities. The children learn the guiding principles to creating stories, oral storytelling, and distinctive folktale elements.
