Telling Tales
Telling Tales is a unique program that connects students with our planet through the magic of storytelling, hands-on discovery, and outdoor adventures.
Our program sparks a sense of wonder about the natural world. By weaving engaging stories into outdoor experiences, we help students form deep, lasting connections with nature in a fun and educational way.
The program’s curriculum is as beautifully simple as it is restorative, connecting young people to the natural world in a fun and safe way.
A space for young people to explore, to ask questions, a space to nurture
imagination, and a space to embark on exciting journeys.
Africa has a vibrant theme of storytelling. The myths, legends, folktales and fables whisk you away from mountain caves to treetops, the land to the open seas.
On Yuniya, we rediscover, reimagine and retell the stories of African mythological creatures and legends.
Our unique multimedia approach transforms storytelling into a dynamic experience. Children on Yuniya don't just hear these tales; they actively explore and experience carefully selected African mythologies through captivating narratives.
With interactive elements, we bring these tales to life, creating an immersive learning experience that goes beyond traditional storytelling.
Storytelling
Beyond The Tales
Space to cultivate a sense of responsibility towards our planet within the hearts of our community. Space for children to explore and learn about the world around them.
Explorers
Inspired by chosen African mythologies from the story collection on Yuniya, children and young people learn more about the mythological creature's home.
Kind Club
Activities inspired by the story of Malachi Place
The Kind Club shares stories and books to engage, empower, educate, and celebrate empathy, diversity, and equality.
In the Kind Club, children will learn what kindness is, how to put their heart into action and why it is so important to be kind.
These stories about acts of kindness and empathy help children see how they can positively impact the world.
Curious Club
We believe that meaningful impacts on climate change will stem from connections and communication across the globe.
At Yuniya, we focus on creating a bridge for personal connections.
How do we do this?
Through storytelling, education, and co-creation.
We do this by connecting children and their parents to the people and places currently facing the effects of climate change, creating a space for co-creation rooted in storytelling.
