Learning Through Story, Place And Participation

Yuniya CIC is a community learning and educational organisation rooted in cultural and environmental landscapes.

We create storytelling-led learning pathways that support young people and communities in understanding place, environment, culture and future possibilities.

Our work sits at the intersection of education, environmental learning, cultural production and community-led practice.

Mission

Transformation Through Participation, Lived Experience And Sustained Relationships Over Time

We design long-term learning pathways that connect storytelling, environment and systems thinking. Our work sits at the intersection of education, environmental learning, cultural production and community-led practice.

Our Approach

Participatory Learning

01

Pathways

We build long-term engagements that offer progression, deep learning, and sustained participation. These pathways support young people in moving through story, place, reflection, systems understanding, making, and future pathway exposure.

02

Systems Thinking Through Storytelling

We ground our work in storytelling as a tool to understand social, cultural, and environmental systems. Storytelling allows young people to explore climate, ecology, identity, memory, community, and place through accessible, culturally responsive entry points.

03

Place-Based Learning

Our work is rooted in Southwark and Lambeth, using local environments as active learning spaces. The local environment becomes a site for observation, care, questioning, participation and creative response.

04

Youth Exposure And Pathways

We connect young people to creative and environmental sectors. We do this by helping participants recognise their skills, document their contributions, and explore real-world possibilities across creative, green, cultural, and community-based futures.
